HOW WE
ARE DIFFERENT
How to Distinguish
the Alzheimer’s Association from Related Organizations
The Alzheimer’s Association is the
largest national voluntary organization dedicated to conquering
Alzheimer’s disease through research and providing assistance and
support to affected families.
In the past decade or so, there have
been a growing number of Alzheimer-related organizations. Many do
solicit for donations and, in fact, use "Alzheimer’s" in
their title. However, there are some important differences between the
Alzheimer’s Association and these other organizations:
- Few of
them raise millions of dollars for research or provide public
programs and services.
- None
of them have the Association’s national presence with a
network of chapters across the country.
With research grants totaling more
than $100 million ($19.3 million in 2000 alone), the Alzheimer’s
Association is the largest private funder of Alzheimer disease
research. We are second only to the Federal Government in supporting
research into the prevention and cure of this devastating disease.
Look for the Logo! Only the Alzheimer’s Association
uses the new distinctive logo as seen below.
